This ever choice vegetable is used worldwide in the most delicious foods. Its taste and colour are unique. It has three popular colours in its different growth stages. First, it is green, turns yellow, and is finally orange or red in the ripe stage. Nutrition composition in 100 grams of raw fresh tomatoes is as follows,

Cooked tomatoes are an excellent source of Fiber and low calories. Cooked tomatoes have 94.5% water,0.95% proteins , 0.11% fats , 0.11% carbohydrates ,0.7% fibers ,0.68% iron , and 11% calcium , sugar in 100 grams. It has only 18 calories in 100 grams. Such a fine combination this vegetable has!

This vegetable has a powerful taste of vitamin C. Raw green tomatoes cover 23.4 milligrams, orange tomatoes keep 16 milligrams and yellow tomatoes have 9 milligrams per 100 grams, which is marginally more than half of a large, 3-inch tomato. Sun-dried tomatoes have added vitamin C, containing 39 milligrams per 100 grams. Crushed, tinned tomatoes and tomato juice contain smaller amounts, respectively contributing 9 and 18 milligrams of vitamin C to your daily intake. Vitamin C helps in the absorption of calcium and iron. Deficiency of Vitamin C reasons the disease scurvy. Due to this disease occur many complications like bleeding gums, hair loss and joint pain.

Tomatoes have a rich portion of phosphorus. Phosphorus is the second most present mineral in the human body after calcium. From this amount portion, we can know its importance. Deficiency of phosphorus may cause anaemic appearance and weakness of muscles. For the protection and health of bones and teeth, phosphorous is very essential. Tomatoes can be used in a balanced way to increase the amount of phosphorus in the body. Phosphorus is an important component of the immune system.

In the case of diabetes type 2, one should use those fruit or vegetables that contain a low glycemic index. The fruits with low glycemic levels include strawberries, guava, papaya, fresh pear, grapefruit, orange, plum cherries, etc. Vegetables contain minerals, vitamins and fibres that are very useful in the case of diabetes type 2. Tomatoes are best to use in diabetes type 2 because it is full of these nourishments.

Tomatoes are antioxidants and save the body from free radicals. Free radicals have been related to cancer symptoms. Free radicals are dangerous for our body cells. Studies have shown that this vegetable is antifungal, antibacterial, ant mutagenic and anti-toxic. What a wonderful and amazing gift it is from nature!

It is helpful in case of heart diseases. It helps to prevent arteriosclerosis (a condition where artery walls become hard and lose elasticity). It has a very important component called lycopene that boosts energy and lowers the risk of a heart attack. It has a mineral called potassium which is very helpful in maintaining blood pressure level. Normal blood pressure level tends heart in normal condition to avoid any misadventure of heart. It is also helpful in reducing bad cholesterol levels in the human body.

Tomatoes have vitamin A that is a wonderful agent in maintaining the health of the eyes. It helps to clear Cornea the outer layer of our eye. Vitamin A is a very strong element for the building of our tissues. Strong tissues make a healthy organ system that avoids dryness of skin, eyes and night blindness. It has vitamin B6. It is also known as pyridoxine. It is very important for the metabolism of fats in the body. Lack of this vitamin may cause depression and a sore mouth.

In short, nature is a good friend of man. It offers fully hygienic and superfood to man. It is up to man how he uses it.
